Working with two other artists - Sue Challis and Dilwara Begum - Frilly delivered creative workshops with residents of Birmingham and Solihull Women's Aid to explore experiences of domestic violence as well as their experiences of the support services available to them.
Participants created lifesize standees through drawing, creative writing and mark making techniques - using bold primary pastel colours on black cartridge paper. We ran workshops for women and separate workshops for their children.
The final exhibition took place at Birmingham City Football Club in November 2010 and the finished artworks will continue to be used by BSWAID as a powerful promotional tool for the work that they deliver.
